This guide assumes you know how to login cPanel and the domain has been added to you account.
Creating a new email account
- From the cPanel Dashboard, click on Email Accounts in the Email box
- Under Add Email Account, type in what you want before the @ symbol
- If you have more than one domain, you can choose it in the drop down menu
- Type in your new mailbox password twice to confirm
- Under Mailbox Quota, you can limit how much space the account can use
- Once finished, click the Create Account button
- While mailbox quota can be unlimited, we reccomend setting a quota. If a mailox doesn't have a quota it can potentially grow out of control and fill up your hosting plan's disk space. If this were to happen, all functions on the hosting plan will stop working until more disk space is made available. This includes sending and receving mail, website functionality, etc.
- If a mailbox hits the account limit, it will no longer accept mail and return bounce backs to the sender.
You are now ready to use you new email account.
Creating a email forwarder (alias)
- From the cPanel Dashboard, click on Forwarders in the Email box
- Click the Add Forwarder button
- Under Address to Forward, type in what you want before the @ symbol
- If you have more than one domain, you can choose it in the drop down menu
- Type in the email address that you to forward the email to (can be any email address)
- Click the Add Forwarder, button
- You won't be able to reply from the forwarded address. If you are looking for true alias support we recommend using a service such as Office 365.
- Unlike other mail services, a mailbox doesn't need to exist for each forwarder.
